Why do photographers cost so much??
When you start looking for a photographer to capture memories, you are not paying someone just to snap a few photos and call it a day. You are paying for an experience that you will remember and look back on. As a photographer, I am someone that takes the time out to get to know you and your family, so I can create an image that tells your story and turn it into a piece of art you will remember for a lifetime.
As your photographer, these are a few things I take the time to do to ensure you have a memorable photoshoot:
- I talk to you.

Yes, that’s right, we have communication whether it’s on the phone or in email (approx. 1-3 hours). How else does one get to know each other and what you like.
- Scope out locations.

Scope out locations that will make your photos beautiful and make sure the location is easily accessible for everyone. You can have a beautiful location, but my main concern is safety for everyone.
- Travel (approx. 1+ hours).

Traveling is not a problem for me. I want you to feel completely comfortable with the location of your choice.
- Preparation.

Preparation prior to photoshoot is somewhere between 1 – 3 hours depending on cleanliness of the location.
- Attention to detail.

On the day of your photoshoot, you will have my undivided attention in order to customize your session (approx. 1+ hours).
- Perfecting your images.

Perfecting your images after your photoshoot (10 – 15 hours for the entire gallery; however time may vary depending on what type of photoshoot we are doing).
- Editing.

After you proof your gallery, re-edits may be needed (approx. 1 hour).
- Assistance and personalization.

Final gallery delivered, assisting with purchasing products and personalizing custom albums (approx. 4+ hours).
- Delivery.

Product delivery (approx. 1 hour).
- Seeing your final products.

Watching you and your family’s face light up when they see your final products for the very first time (priceless).
I could add the hours up and divide that by my session fee, but that’s not what I want you to remember. I want you to remember your session as being one of the best things you chose to invest in, your memories.
After you have read everything above, you still may say: “I get it, but what will your professional photos do for me?” I can say without a shadow of a doubt, my clients feel that the images I capture for them are irreplaceable and trying to recreate that exact moment is impossible.
My clients will be able to look back years from now and share those beautiful images with their children, grandchildren and other family members. They will think of that exact moment and smile or even give a deep belly laugh all the while trying to tell the story behind the photo. That is something you can’t put a price on.
Having professional photographs taken is an experience and is one that I hope you get to have more than once. You can not put a price on beautiful moments captured in time for you to hand down generation to generation. Photography is a calling; its something I love to do. If I can make people continue to smile after my time is up, then I did my job.
